About

Wisdom Academies is a Distance Education Provider under the auspices of Aquinas Leadership School, LLC. It furnishes self-paced, non-credit bearing college-level academic courses through self-study, video, email communication with educational consultants.

Educational Consultants are scholars and industry experts in their respective fields.  Many hold, or have held, faculty positions at colleges and universities or leadership positions in private industry and government.

Courses offered are those that the late Father James V. Schall would consider Another Sort of Learning (1988) in contemporary times—uncommon commonsense wisdom courses—that study diverse subject matters but show how they are integrated into the whole of knowledge by highlighting first principles.

Fr. Schall warned that “real education and formal education may not be all the same things. There are, moreover, many things college professors and historians do not understand. Do not be surprised at this” (Schall 1988, 7). Like-minded scholars such as our Chief Executive Officer of the Aquinas Leadership School, LLC and Wisdom Academies, Dr. Peter A. Redpath, explains the difference and why in the Welcome Page and in his most recent book, How to Speak and How to Listen: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants to Renew Commonsense and Uncommonsense Wisdom in the Contemporary World (2021), Wisdom Academies' foundational monograph.

Wisdom Academies provides interested learners at all levels the opportunity to learn uncommon commonsense wisdom from a variety of perspectives not easily found in today’s universities and executive training programs. Unlike other education providers, Wisdom Academies offers one-on-one relationships between students and educational consultants who will help guide their studies in the tradition of the medieval universities in the High Middle Ages.
